Team-AZ skier, Marie Toms, 21 from Bleasby in Nottinghamshire has been announced a member of the British Waterski Team who will be competing in the World Championships in Italy from 24th-30th September.

Marie who is also a member of the Lottery funded World Class Performance
Plan, and was awarded a Winston Churchill Memorial Fellowship earlier this
year, has overcome two career threatening injuries to get back to the top in
Britain. This year she has fronted the skin cancer awareness campaign as the
Official Face of Delph Sunscreens, and appeared Live on ITV’s This
Morning, having a drastic change of image in a makeover!

Five other team members will join Marie in Italy, for the Championships that
are lucky to be taking place. Initially they were to be hosted by Spain, but
due to lack of funding, Spain pulled out at the last minute. The Championships were postponed, and Italy very kindly stepped in! The Team will hopefully training in sunnier climes before the event, and hope to finish Top 5 in the Team event!
